James Equipment Rental is a family owned and operated equipment rental company in Winchester, TN. Our owner, James Polkinghorne, has spent most of his career in various aspects of the construction industry. We understand the pressures that our customers face with schedules, crews, customers, weather and so on. Equipment does not need to be another variable. FAQ's and Policies
What are your hours?
Generally 8-5 on weekdays and 8-12 on Saturday. However, we know life happens, so we will make ourselves available after hours by appointment to accommodate your schedule as much as we can. Just let us know ahead of time if you can, or text us on our main number after hours and we will respond if we are able.
Do you deliver?
Yes we do! Our base delivery is $125+tax within 10 miles, and that includes delivery and pickup. If you are further than 10miles, we are happy to give you a delivery quote.
How many hours are included with your day rate?
We allow 10 operating hours for the daily rate. We do not give discounts or credits if the 10hrs are not used up. If you have more than 10hrs on the machine, we charge $45/hr for the overage.
What if I reserve or rent it and then it rains and I can't use it?
As long as you reach out a day before on a reservation, we are happy to accommodate your needs. However, if you have already rented a machine, we aren't able to absorb the liability of the weather. Therefore, we aren't able to do give credit or offer rain dates after you have rented the machine out.
How many days is the weekly and monthly rental for?
7 days and 4 weeks
Can I pickup the day before?
Depending on availability.
Do you have a "Weekend Rate"?
We consider Saturday and Sunday to be a single rental "day". Therefore, if you pick up on Saturday morning, your rental would be due back on Monday morning at the daily rate.
What about Damage?
We do not currently offer a "Damage Waiver", rather, you are responsible for the cost of any damage that is incurred. You paid for a healthy machine in good repair, so if the machine fails in any way during normal use, we will do everything we can to get you moving again as quickly as possible and make it right.
If there is any failure or damage that is attributed to the operator, the renter will be liable for the cost of any repair. We have worked machines ourselves, and we understand that things happen. We try to be as reasonable as possible, but we do reserve the right to determine operator liability or not.
We also have a "Bent Metal Fee". If any metal is bent, such as backing a skid steer into a tree and denting the rear door, as long as it isn't severe enough to require immediate replacement in which case you would be liable for the cost of a replacement, we would assess a $200 "Bent Metal Fee" per panel.
